The Mammals Checklist contains 112 accepted names of mammal species that are known to occur in Alaska. The checklist also includes 2 provisionally accepted names and 46 invalid names. Consult “About the Checklist” to read about our treatment of invalid names.

Instructions

Use the filters and search boxes below to explore the checklist. Fields can be filtered by typing queries in the main search block above the table or in the search blocks directly below the column names.

The “Given Name” field includes all names that have been applied or misapplied, while the “Current Name” field shows currently accepted taxa. The “Status” field shows the relationship between the current name and accepted name. The “Source” field contains links for the reference material for the current name.

To download the results of a query, click the desired download format (Excel or CSV). Use the “Clear Filters” option to erase query results and return to displaying all rows.
